Ok so yesterday my laptop keyboard and mouse stopped working and this wasn't the first time either. For both times my laptop hibernated, then when I turned my laptop back on, it woke up but nothing worked, only the power button and the wireless button's light lit but didn't change.
So last time I had no option but to hold down the power key so it'd power off so I could restart the computer. This fixed the problem. This time when it happened I had a USB mouse with me so I was able to shut down the laptop using that rather than holding down the power button(ONLY DO THAT AT YOUR OWN RISK as I lost one of my laptops by shutting down that way!) But when I tried turning the laptop on, it still didn't work. Only the mouse and clickers worked until you press a button on the keyboard, then it stops working(funny isn't it?
So yeah, today I pressed that power button and everything was fine(as I'm now typing using this keyboard that wasn't working moments before). I'd love to know the reason behind all this. I have an HP laptop and I looked around yesterday for an answer and there were many people with this problem who had an HP laptop or computer so I'm a bit scared about this.
Actually the first time I got this laptop it froze and I thought the laptop froze but maybe it was just the keyboard and mouse?? Anyway I'm glad that everything's working again! If you have the same problem and are reading this right now then give it a go, it might just work! It sort of seems dumb but I really don't like doing the forced shut down, I only use it for emergencies!
Anyway, 2nd week back at uni!!! Not much happening at the moment which is good for now.
